About Little Ivy Preschool
With an approach that blends the best components from selected educational philosophies, including hands-on activities from Montessori, structure from Waldorf, and daily-life skills from Emily Post's Etiquette, Little Ivy Preschool is founded upon the principle that children do best when they are free to play, learn, and grow.

We offer a structured play-based curriculum, in which the choice of daily activities are self-directed by children, but within an overall framework of options that are designed to integrate traditional educational themes within each activity. Our school offers diverse activities such as scientific exploration, music, visual art, Spanish language, and activities that promote motor skill development. Within our programming we also emphasize good manners, and teach basic etiquette as a lifelong social skill. We work with local private and public schools to ensure that our graduates are ahead of the curve when they enter kindergarten. Young children grow mentally, physically, and emotionally from what they learn, and they learn from their play activities. These guiding principles of Play, Learn, Grow, are featured on our school crest, represented by the teddy bear, alphabet book, and apple.

Diversity and Inclusion
Little Ivy promotes equality and diversity in our enrollment, curriculum, staffing, and daily practices. We welcome children and families of all backgrounds, origin, and lifestyles. We have experience with children who possess no English language skills, from linguistic backgrounds as diverse as Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish and Italian. We have also been able to welcome and provide care, education and resources for children who are presenting as nonverbal. In our curriculum, we continuously adapt and integrate new ideas and lessons, often inspired by our enrolled families, and we welcome parent participation! We have recently integrated programming educating children about Diwali, Hanukkah, Dia De Los Muertos, the Lunar New Year, and many other occasions, holidays, and lessons inspired by the diversity of our student body.
Programs and Tuition
Little Ivy Preschool's campus consists of two large classrooms, the "Big Red Room," generally for ages two and three, and the "Big Blue Room" generally for potty-trained three-year-olds, through age five. Curriculum activities are catered to appropriate age groups within the classrooms. We have a large private play area including grassy field, play structure, and blacktop. Our school is also privileged to have direct access to a small private farm and approximately three acres of grass sports field, as a benefit of our location adjacent to Napa Christian School (although we are not affiliated with Napa Christian School, they are wonderful neighbors!).

Every day, Little Ivy provides two nutritious snacks to our enrolled children, and our snack offerings are always organic and vegetarian for healthy nutrition that accommodates most dietary restrictions. Children bring their own lunch to school. Due to our limited enrollment capacity, while we typically offer several flexible enrollment programs, we do not offer a half-day program.
Care Schedules
Little Ivy offers three schedules to accommodate the needs of our enrolled families. Preschool Hours are7:30am - 5:30pm. Within those hours, families are free to pick-up and drop-off at any time, and to utilize as many or as few of those scheduled hours of care as their family needs.

We welcome families of all socioeconomic backgrounds. For families with low-to-no-income, we are proud to work with Community Resources for Children and other governmental agencies to assist you in identifying the programming and aid which may enable your child to benefit from early childhood education, and to provide your family with the important care during the day for caregivers to be freed to participate in the workforce. Please call if you have questions about tuition assistance programs.
